Computer Games into films

Exactly. Kojima's plots are so far out there in that distinctly Japanese fashion that a movie wouldn't make a lot of sense really. MGS is all about the stealth GAMEPLAY. Watching an actor being stealthy just isn't that interesting, hence the reason there shouldn't be a Splinter Cell movie either.

Silent Hill had its moments but the last half an hour was like a poor computer game copy of a Clive Barker movie.

It looks like Bioshock and Alan Wake might make good movies though.

Pong the Movie?

Maybe not.

As for Half Life, there's definitely movie potential there. Both HL games were very well-written with very strong story lines (for a computer game.)

I don't know who would be good in the role of Gordon Freeman but I reckon Dr. Breen should be played by Dennis Hopper.

Resident Evil, the video game, was in many ways a game of Dawn of the Dead.....except in a mansion, rather than a shopping mall! The influence is there though.

I quite liked Streetfighter.....it was so bad, it was funny. No one would watch a Jean Claude Van Damme movie and have any expectations pre the movie that it will be some sort of stunning Kubrick-esque masterpiece!
