My brothers computer was in extremely poor shape, system 32 errors, couldnt delete anything etc. i managed to fix most of these problems so now the computer runs more or less normally. the problem is tat wmp cannot recognize any file type, even the most common ones. i then downloaded vlc media player which took over the media concerns. But then the true problem began, i tried to use the laptop to burn dvd's and using wmp or windows explorer i can create data discs but i need video dvds. i then used roxio and ashampoo burning studio 9 and both programs could not recognize or use any file i had. i have another computer and tried to use the good computer to create video dvds and networkly link them and take over the bad computers dvd drive, but they cant detect each other even though network sharing is on, on both computers and are on the same network. so is there a way to get the file sharing working (the dvd drive is set to share), a program that will recognize these files even though the other recognize none, or some way to fix the software already on the computer. any help will be appreciated :)
movie file types are .avi, in windows vista basic, using ashampoo burning studio 9, writing on dvd-r (and it does work for the burner because i have made several data discs but need video dvd now) anything else i forgot?

I really have no idea what to say, because you didn't specify file types.

Try Googling K lite codec pack, downloading and installing it.

That should work.
