MediaCity – Content Testing

(actually pretty interesting :)

I read the starting quote about flexings its polymer shell....then decided this is not worth my time and I couldn't care less. Shameless self promotion is what I see

Sorry that's how you see it. Of course it is self promotion, as neither Apple nor Nokia or Microsoft have paid us to do it, but "shameless"? Those were actual work hours and actual research, building on actual proven methodology put into the test. I'd suggest you skip the (admittedly) flowery intro and go to the test itself, I still believe you'll find the results of interest.

A very nice and professionally made research... Well made!

Although testing with just 11 individuals isn't too credible, but still the results came out are very logical and expected to be honest.

From what I personally experienced so far, WP has a first impression problem! And this is a big obstacle for MS and Nokia to solve through their marketing campaigns!
Nokia did well by hiring dedicated salesmen instructed by Nokia how to present the Lumia line-up to customers in main electronics shops in main cities across Europe, but it isn't enough!

The media is generally doing though a very good part in highlighting the pros and cons of the platform and explaining what WP is about. All these positive ratings should help!

I liked how in the final verdict two important points were mentioned: Influence of the iPhone's popularity, and also how users tend to understand and like WP more the more they use it while it isn't the case with the iPhone.

Still...a test between an OS that everyone knows and apparently most people like against one most people have never seen. i'll give it a look though

as you can see in the test, we chose 10 persons, none of which had ever used iOs or Windows Mobile before. That, naturally, did not stop ppl from having preconceived notions of iPhones etc.

full disclosure, i'm not biased. My last phone was a 3GS, befor that an N95, and writing this on my N9.
