I have a Panasonic plasma Th-50PX80U and 9242 HD PVr .The Bell tech said their was a problem with HDMI cable and to use component. Is there a great difference in the quality of the picture between the 2?

I am using component

Thanks

HDMI works great for most people. Some receivers and TVs have issues. Try the HDMI cable included with 9242. If it works, you might want to get a cable that doesn't have the clunky adapter. If it doesn't work for you, try component (also included.)

I have run both Component and HDMI and I'm sold on HDMI. There is the odd time I have to reboot the 9242 but that's once in a blue moon.

A word of warning for the HDMI fans, buy your cables online. Retailers want outrageous amounts of $$$ for the same cables. I picked up a 35 foot in wall rated HDMI cable for $35 US. A retailer charges triple that for a 6 foot cable that's not in-wall rated!!!

6' HDMI cables can be purchased online for about $5-$10 each. Very nice if you use a HDMI switch, about $35 online.
