anybody
i just installed hogtune amp and speakers on my 03 electra glide classic, and now have a low pitch hissing sound from my speakers.the sound is more noticable with the radio off?anyone else have this issue,is it an issue or is that normal
thanks

Last year I spun the wheel for all the top of the line HAWG WIRED stuff for my '06 Ultra. Went with the lower fairing speaker setup & changed out the upper fairing speakers too. Got rid of the H-D OEM amp & went with the HAWG WIRED $999.95 amp also.

Well, so far I have blown 5 speakers & now the HK head unit works intermittently. It works for a bit then just QUITS. Shut it off & then turn it back on & it works just fine for a few minutes then it happens all over again.

I've about had it with the $1000 H-D Harmon Kardon head unit AND ALL THE HAWG WIRED components. I'm going to remove EVERYTHING & start over.

I am looking for people to give me their opinions on what they believe is the hot setup. I want the absolute BEST stereo money can buy in my bike. Is the Biketronics setup the ticket? Please tell me EXACTLY what I'll all need for a complete radio makeover!!!

Are there any dealers in the Wisconsin/ Northern Illinois that install these systems?

I'd suggest you read this entire thread which will give you the info needed. You can always google Biketronics and phone them up yourself? They sell everything you need, and all of their high quality audio components come with lifetime guarantees. That includes the speakers.

I got a 4 channel 400 amp Pyle marine amp for about $66here:

and then there is this one:

But Pyle is a good name.

Just need to get some decent speakers for the tour pack pods, I already upgraded the fronts to Infinitys. I hear J&M's are affordable and great sound!

First let me say THANKS for this thread's info. Now I was wondering , on the rear speakers , Do you use the stock harness for wiring , or do you run a new seperate set of wires for rear sound. I am removing the speaker switch in my cap, since not using HK unit. So was thinking that I would do the conventional speaker output to speaker connections on all 4 speakers and use heavier gauge wiring. May decide on amps while apart, also going to run the sub out RCA cable too tourpack for future if needed.
So do I use the standard external wiring method or use the internal harness?

Great instructions for those of us not mechanically inclined. I'm trying to install a Sirius signal modulator between the stock antenna and the radio. I started to disconnect the antenna from the back of the radio, and it looked oike I was pulling the antenna plug apart. It appears there is a plastic sleve around the antenna plug. Does this whole thing come out, or just the metal pieces inside the plastic plug? Or perhaps I need to start a new thread on this subj? Any help is appreciated. I'm trying to do this on a '09 Ultra. Thanks!

Thank You so much for the write up....Just did my install no problems
It's great when someone takes the time to help another out!

You're all welcomed and again, I'm glad it helped someone out. My system's still pounding out the tunes and I've been beating on it all summer. Good stuff for sure!

It is the pits to get the two metal protrusions on the frame lined up with the two slots on the Bat. I had to remove the faring - tape a white strip on the Bat and also on the radio to get the tabs lined up. Probably could do it the next time by feel but the first time was difficult. Neeat thing about the reinstall though is, I don't believe you could get all the bolt holes lined up if the Bat wasn't in perfect alignment and hooked over the frame tabs.
