Complete Biketronics / Hogtunes Installation Completed-Full Pictorials Provided

I should get my stuff from Biketronics today. I got the Sony CDX-GT and the Titan XL 6.5 inch speakers. Never had a radio on a bike, so this should be cool. I will have my laptop in the garage with me and will be following these instructions. Thanks!

Welcome!

I kept hearing so much about the 6.5" Titan speakers that I had to go an order a set myself. I knew they were coming out soon when I ordered my 5.25" speakers but didn't want to wait. Now that they're out, I called mike and expect a set to come sometime next week.

You won't be sorry GasCan! Everyone who has listened to my 6.5" Titans (powered by the Biketronics amp) has been VERY impressed. I still play them while I work in the garage and just keep finding myself stopping what I am doing to just stare and listen to the wonderful sound they produce!

Did the install last night and by God there is actually music coming out of the speakers! (I know nothing about radio stuff). The instruction that came with the kit SUCK! However, I did have my laptop in the garage and following your step-by-step instructions it was pretty easy. Thanks again!

Well I have been following this Tread and I was lucky enough to win a set of Hog Tunes speakers and the Tweeter Kit at the local HD Dealers open house last weekend, and thanks to Gas Can I followed his instructions to the T and it was easy I originally was gonna have the dealer install them at a cost of $85 hr labor Im sure it would have taken almost two hours that's about what it took me.
My impression of the set up is this, I like the ease of installation as far as the speakers the magnets are larger and heavier hope the added weight doesn't stress the mounting points as they are only plastic and may crack from the added weight? Or am I just being paranoid? The tweeter pod was also very easy although I figured out ya had to disconnect the Y plugs to get em thru the holes then re connect I hope they dont get affected by water either the grills or under the lip near the windshield on top. I also lost my double windshield bag, oh well looks better without it although Ill have to replace the windshield sooner or later as the bag scratched it.
My Overall Impression of the sound, although I didn't go for a ride yet only listened to them in the garage I really am not blown away. Ill see how they sound on the road I felt they were a little "tinny" I like more bass . Its not a fair impression as like I said I didn't take a ride I cant do that until next weekend The build quality was excellent and the instructions and ease of installation was excellent!!! My 2 cents I also must say Pez responded to my e mails fast and customer service was excellent all in all a nice quality upgrade to the MOCO's stock set up!!
Thanks again "Gas Can" for the excellent write up and installation instructions, photos! Ride Safe Bill

We installed the newer HogTunes in my buddies Street Glide this weekend. Easy install about 1/2 hour total. After we had it in, I put my Street Glide next to his. Call me crazy, but I did not notice that much of a difference between stock and HT. Just my 2 cents.

So...last night I finally got around to swapping out the Biketronics 5.25" out for the 6.5" speakers. Easy swap, great fit with the supplied reducer/grills, and fantastic sound from the larger surface area. Should also stand up better to the power delivered being that they are 200 watt peak and the amp is 180 watt per. Here's a few pictures of the completed install.
