My bf's bike was reversed into by a person whilst he was in the dentist and they caused quite alot of damage to the fairing and the bike now over heats and is not able to be driven. The person drove off when they noticed what they'd done but luckily there was a witness who happens to be a lawyer that got their reg and is willing to provide a statement to the police. The police say it is classed as a hit and run as the person didnt stick around or report it, and though my bf has reported and insurance companys are now involved he feels he should be compensated on top of the insurence pay out as the person didnt even have the decencey to stick around and he now has no transport and his baby (bike) is absolutely wrecked. Is there a way he can claim some sort of compensation for what has happened?
