Compare Lenses for Nikon (Motor sport photography)?

Hi, I have been taking shots of motor sport photography (bike racing in particular) and am curious as to which of the following two lenses would be better.

* Nikon 80-200mm f2.8;
* Sigma 28-300 f3.5

Any opinions, I know the f3.5 is alot cheaper but would it be worth paying the extra for the f2.8, also would it be a hugely noticeable difference in the zoom range?
