In Air Force basic training they are preparing for mostly mundane jobs working on airplanes on a heavily defended base. On that base they will eat in mess halls and sleep in nice soft beds, in air conditioning, with showers every day. They likely will not even be issued a weapon. In Marine boot camp they are preparing to rush ashore facing heavy weapons. They are preparing to run 20 miles through the sand carrying a 100lb pack with certain specialties even heavier packs. All this while under fire and looking out for IED's and sniper fire. They will dig a fighting hole in the sand and take turns eating cold MRE's while someone stands watch. They will go for two or three weeks without changing camo's and maybe a month without a shower. They will all have a fully charged weapon in their hand at all times. Then after two or three weeks in the field they will jump on trucks to go along a dangerous road back to a more secure location where they will be allowed to shower and change into new clothes. They will replenish their ammo, get a couple of nights sleep, maybe watch a flick. Then they will do it all again. And again. And again.
So I throw the question back to you. Whose training is easier?
The Air Force is a great service but the Marine motto is "first to fight and last to leave."
