Community

It's already one of my favourite shows, and that's just from the clips I've seen on YouTube. I've only seen 1 complete episode (the pilot).

Really hope it comes to the UK soon, even though it'll probably end up on some digital channel I don't get and I'll have an even longer wait for the DVRAB (just like 30 Rock).

Season 2 is about to start in the US. Can't believe no UK channel picked it up.

It would be perfect for Channel 4.

Razor sharp writing and great comic-timing. Chevy Chase is hilarious.

Viva is owned by MTV and shows nothing of any value.

Community is a really good show, but I'm not sure if it's good enough to warrant tuning in to Viva.

Actually it starts Wednesday (6/10) at 22.00 on VIVA ,

and is repeated on thursday & friday

it is a double bill....

also i noticed that the "friday movie" is Labor Pains also repeated saturday - quite a recent albeit straight to disc release being shown.

now all they have to do is broadcast in 16:9 , get rid of the programme title from the dog and perhaps the audience might rise above 0.1% to say 0.3%.

I can't fathom why a low ranked like Viva has picked this show and its been overlooked by most of the others.

I would have thought Virgin/Channel 1 would have took it but I guess the sale hampered that.

Gave this a try and hated the hell out of it! , imo it is no suprise it ended up on a channel like viva.

across the pond it appears to do ok critically and has the same viewers numbers as 30 rock but me thinks that the inner politics of NBC might just axe it for not being profitable enough.

saying that though 30 rock & the office are doomed beyond 2012 anyway and have already peaked creatively impe.

I love Community and would recommend sticking with it, it really gains confidence as the first season progresses, and one of the last episodes of season one is a classic zombie spoof that's my favourite comedy episode of anything so far this year.

Chevy Chase is great, though they wisely don't overuse him, but the real star is Danny Pudi as pop-culture obsessive Abed - his Christian-Bale-as-Batman impression is brilliant: "You sleep, I'm awake. I don't sleep. I don't blink. Am I a bird? No, I'm a bat. I am Batman. Or am I? Yes, I am Batman."

I loved this! I had pretty low expectations and was completely suprised by how funny I found it, especially the pilot. Although, that might have been due to the fact that I am a huge Breakfast Club fan.

I am a big Arrested Development fan and though Community isn't as clever as AD, the cultural references and characters make up for that and I know this will become one of my favourite comedies.

There's a pretty big crossover between AD and Community fans, despite as you said the latter not being as interwoven as the genius of AD. If you liked the first eps, you'll be pleased to know it only gets better. I don't recall hearing anyone who enjoyed the start not loving it by the end.

Typical for it to find a network that's available to pretty much everyone in the country, but probably will barely appear on the ratings. It was, imo, the best network comedy last year in the States and is streets ahead* of anything produced in the UK for years.

* for those in the know: ;)

It really does get better and better, and season 2 has started off strongly.

Abed and Troy are a great double-act, and Annie steals many an episode.
