community college classes - sign language or speech?

I'm currently a high school sophomore and this summer I want to take two classes at a community college to get credit and learn something useful and interesting. I'm going to take psychology, but I'm not sure if I should pick sign language or speech. Sign language sounds interesting, but is it really useful and worthwhile? And I'm still not sure about speech, either... will it help me get over my fear of public speaking?

Thanks for any advice you can give me. :)

Sign language is f'n awesome but you're right. It is not very useful unless you're career utilized it. I'd definitely say go with speech. It'll be much more useful in yours or anyone's future. I took a Public Speaking class last semester when I could've just taken Communications because I too had the same fear. Charging it head on work well for me. Just try to feel like everyone is going to your house to play beer pong after class. It worked for me...

Hey! Take Sign Language! It's fun, and easy to learn! If your a hands on person, this is the best for you! I have learned a lot of sign language, but not fluent in the language. I know it's easy to learn, because it's not only your eyes and ears that you are using, you are also using your hands to learn this. That is why it was so easy for me! Best of luck to you!
