For my communications class, we have to write an essay choosing one of four topics. I chose to write about the telegraph. I need to write an essay outline first but am having a bit of trouble understanding my topic and trying to think up a thesis.
My essay topic is: "Examine the social, cultural, political and/or economic impact of the introduction of the telegraph. Possible avenues you may want to consider could include the ways in which the rise of the telegraph impacted on gender roles in European and/or North American societies. Another avenue of exploration may include examining the history of telegraph in a cross-cultural context."
If you could please help me come up with a workable thesis and contribute to three key arguments, it would be much appreciated.
