Common cold or something else?

I've had a cold on and off for 3 weeks now!

1st week i had a blocked nose, headaches.
2nd week i had a blocked nose, headaches and a sore throat. Felt quite drained too.
And yesterday i had a very bad headache (borderline migraine) felt sick, body ached all over and still had the blocked nose.

But once again today i feel ok! Still got a headache and blocked nose but i feel fine!

Whats going on? Is my immune system playing up?
It wont seem to go, it just disappears for a bit and then comes back!

Is it a cold or something else?
 
I had the same thing for the past couple of weeks. I had a cold and thought it went away. Then all of a sudden my ear started hurting really bad and my head started to hurt again. I went to the doctor yesturday and she said I had a sinus infection.
