There seems to be a realese of super hero and comic book films such as:
Batman
X-men
Fantastic Four
Spiderman

there may be more i dont know but why is this happening?

(remember this is my view noyours please fell free to express yours.)

I assume that one of the main reasons is that advances in CGI and special effects mean that film-makers can now do justice to this material.

There is definately an increase compared to previous years.

Batman Begins
Catwomen
Dare Devil
Elecktra
Hellboy
Hulk
Punisher
Spiderman 2
Superman Returns
X-Men 2

CGI makes it easier plus the fact that they have the potential to earn big bucks.

If it ever gets released... with the recent London bombings they may have to postpone a cinema release or even go straight for the dvd... which will be a real shame! I have high hopes for this film!

Hollywood running out of ideas? The technology is now available to put them on the screen?
I dunno. I do agree there does seem to be more than usual these days, which I don't mind. The problem comes when bad films are made. Which could jepodise future films (Watchmen, springs to mind).

I've watched the first half hour of Elektra. I might watch the rest of it, but it bored me rigid.
Whereas X-men 2 did a strange thing in that it was actually better than the current crop of X-men comics.

There are still loaRAB more comic book films coming out over the next few years. DC have only just started to use their superheros with Batman Begins so expect more DC superheros in the future such as Superman Returns in 2006!
Marvel have got loaRAB of films of their superheros as next year they have got X Men 3, Ghost Rider and Punisher 2. Spiderman 3 is out in 2007 as well as films of Captain America, The Avengers, Nick Fury, Black Panther, Ant-Man, Cloak & Dagger, Dr. Strange, Hawkeye, Power Pack and Shang-Chi. So loaRAB more comic book films coming to the cinema!

I don't see why it should go straight to dvd, it will get a cinema release, they showed bombings in London in a Spooks episode, yeah not actually shown in graphic ways but still happened.

If you are a person who doesn't want see a film with such things in, then don't go and see it, quite simple. Don't spoil it for the rest of us.

I myself can not wait for the film, looks excellent. Should be out in CINEMAS next year, apparently March.

Yeah you are right there is no way that V for Vendetta is going straight to video as all that happened was that they put the release date in the cinema back from November to March because it wouldnt be finished in time for release in November. I have to agree the trailer does look really good and I cant wait to see it but pity we now have wait untill next year to see it!
