Comedy Central's scheduling of multi-part South Park episodes?

2012(:

Has anybody ever noticed that when Comedy Central airs reruns of two-part (or more) South Park episodes that they don't appear to broadcast parts 1 and 2 on corresponding days? Last wednesday they showed Imaginationland Part 1, but as far as I know South Park wasn't shown on thursday or friday. I recall several months ago part 1 of the two-part episode where Cartman freezes himself too far into the future was shown, and part 2 wasn't shown the next night (and it also wasn't shown immediately afterwards). I also recall watching South Park every night for awhile last year and saw Cartoon Wars Part 2 while an episode other than Cartoon Wars Pat 1 was shown the previous night.

So does anybody happen to know what the heck is up with this? Yeah, I know, I can just download the episodes on iTunes, or buy the DVDs... But still, this is puzzling.

I think it's safe to say Comedy Central is run by monkeys.

Their scheduling is horrible, it's mostly just MADTV and Scrubs reruns all day.

They canceled Reno 911! one of their hugely recognizable flagship series that still was one of the networks consistently highest rated series.

They canceled Stella, a show that didn't have one single crude or raunchy joke on its entire 10 episode run and was gut-bustingly hilarious, while being years ahead of its time in its absurdist and silly humor.

They canceled Drawn Together, a series that was one of the network's highest rated shows after South Park and attracted the highest number on college males in the college demo in all of televison.

Yet, they let Mind of Mencia run for 4 seasons and greenlight crap like Krod Mandoon.

The network was at its creative peak in the mid-2000s when they were a little more adventurous and aired all sorts of different kinds of original programming. Now, it seems they air shows that are filmed infront of audiences because they are cheap to make (Tosh.0)

This.
They want you to buy the DVDs. I have, all 12 of them. As for the Reno 911, I didn't know that. Stupid move Comedy Central.

Well, it's in the "new episode" time-slot, so I assume they're treating it like they did originally and showing part 2 next Wednesday and part 3 the following Wednesday. The episode before it is usually older while the rerun in the "new episode" slot is usually from a more recent season, from what I've seen.

Seriously, it's not much different than Fox. I think Krusty The Clown put it best, "But you're Fox(or Comedy Central), you guys are known for taking chances on crap!"

That's pretty much it.

9:30 slot: The second part will air the next night
10:00 (Wednesday/Thursday): The second part will air the next week in that slot.
Any other slot on any other day: most likely the whole arc will air at once. I remember them running 'Imaginationland' in one night when they air it on Sundays.

Like I said, they really just have a rythme in the New episode slots, so if you really must see all 3 parts, Viacom wants you to buy the DVDs, which I have.
