Comedy Central's Lil' Bush

The original Internet shorts were completely unfunny, totally one-sided, and so one-note as to be ridiculous. Then again, Comedy Central is a one-note network: uncreative, mean-spirited humor that is vapid and lifeless.

No. A shame no one had the guts to make a Clinton-bashing cartoon years ago, the guy who really deserved it instead of all the butt-kissing from Hollywood.

Even though I'm sure the show will be even more relentless, unneeded bashing, I might check out the first episode just because the character design cracks me up everytime I see a promo for it.

After reading the TZ article I feel a little better about it, but I still think it's an incredibly ill-advised show. Bush leaves office in less than 2 years, he's been made fun of by every TV show and comedian on the face of the Earth for the past 7 years, and what I've seen so far looks like it confirms my fears. "Watch my show or the terrorists win." "The best thing about my show is that it's not a book." That might have been funny in 2002.

I agree, this show looks lame mostly because its been done so many times before. OMG BUSH SUX LOL. Its not funny anymore. Its also a reason I dont like American Dad that much, now imagine a show that is ONLY based on Bush.

I'm sure it'll be a hit though including internationally.

well the faster the better ;D
Even if the show is very funny and the greatest show ever I would not trade more episodes for more years of him in office ;)

I know it's tough when the topic at hand is this overtly political, but let's try to keep our own personal political biases out of this discussion. The issue is not whether Bush "deserves" to be satirized, but whether this show stands a chance of being any good at it. Let's try and avoid yet another tired circular political debate if we can possibly do so.

It doesn't look all that funny to me and I'm not a fan of the president either. It might of worked a few years ago, it's kind of late now considering he's out of office next year.

I really have to wonder why Comedy Central thought another George W. Bush series would be a good idea at a time when the Bush administration is on the way out. The time to have busted out with this was during Bush's 1st (or the beginning of his 2nd) term in office.

CC is making a toon about Harry Truman????

Seriously, Truman's approval ratings were down to 29% at one point during his Presidency. Thus he beats Bush when it comes to public short-sightedness....er, disapproval. ;)

The thing is, some of our greatest Presidents were savagely reviled during their time, and one of those presidents was Lincoln. So for that reason (and others, such as its poor quality is only equal to its blatant bias) I don't give a damn about Comedy Central's stupid cartoon. If I want to watch a good toon that contains clever social commentary that's delivered in a even-handed fashion, I'll watch South Park.

Although I did hear that Matt and Trey were glad that it was Bush since they wanted him more as the central figure since I believe they say if they're any party they're Republican. Of course that was back in 2001 when the show first (and only) started airing so they're opinons could of changed by then.

Yeah Lil Bush dosen't look like a long lasting show, but maybe that's the point: a quick one season diddy about Bush or so to get people watching CC for some reason during the summer into the new fall season. I mean really Im' sure even CC knows they're no long term appeal in a Bush show so late in his presidencey run. I'll at least give it a first episode run, since it's guaranteed to be better then some other short run CC shows (at the very least it will be better then Kid Notorious, no matter how much you think it may suck).
