Combustion History of Ethanol and Propanol?

Does anyone know the combustion history of ethanol and propanol?
and also the history of these alcohols being used as fuels.

It is a huge blunder using food corn for what trash, bushes and more productive trash plants will produce without all the expensive fertilizer. Corn for ethanol may be the biggest boondoggle since "the bridge to nowhere."
