Columbia to make new He-Man movie.

I'm not sure whether you're being serious or not.I'll always defend the 1987 movie, even though it's very camp and cheesy. However,Dolph was extremely wooden in that movie and at over 50 year's old is simply too old to play him.

Now if they can get Frank Langella to play Skeletor again...

This He-Man movie has been discussed since 2002,but there are problems involving Mattel who are difficult to deal with.It should be a no-brainer really, considering the mythology available such as the cartoons and the fan fiction.
There are tens of millions of people that grew up with the brand and would make this movie a huge financial success.

To be honest it's been a very long time since I have seen Masters of the Universe and as a result I think it would be unfair for me to say it was terrible (I can't remember points or reason I disliked it so I think it would be unfair) and like you say it was so cheesy I am suprised it was sponsered by Edam. I am willing to give it another go to see how much I would like it now. MOTU is one of those films I saw as a kid and like The Super Mario Bros. I can't see myself ever thinking "how much is it on Amazon so I can get it for this weekenRAB viewing".

It really isn't that bad, better than Super Mario Bros anyway.A pure kiddies film, but fast paced with imaginative costumes and good dialogue.Frank Langella makes a fantastic villain,so the movie is worth a look for his performance. If you do decide to watch it take into account it's target audience (pre teens) and moderate budget. You'll be quite surprised, but you'll see what I mean concerning Dolph's performance and delivery.

it was strange - but i loved He-Man like nothing else around that time...and when i saw the movie - i just went off it!!!!

they have already gone there with Popeye in the 80s - which was pants.

Dogtanian...mmm - i aint sure about that! I personally love it, but it isnt really celebrated the world over (they hadnt heard of it in NZ) and i dont think it was ever realised in the US.

they made a second series in 90s, set 10 years after the original - which i never saw, but was apparently diabolical. all different voice cast, different animation (Taiwanese rather then Japanese), different everything!!!! why did they bother!!!

do love our little Dogtanian though!!!

There has to be a porn movie out there that spoofs He-Man and The Masters of the Universe, the material is classic:

He-Man
Beastman
Ram-Man
Fisto
Extendar
Faker
Trap-Jaw
