Ok...soooo....I have AP English summer work and I am supposed to find a nonfiction novel by an American author and then do a project over that novel. The only problem is, I cant find an interesting novel, I have a huge hate for nonfiction books because usually they are horribly boring! Unfortunately I must do this, the only thing I can think would make the novel more interesting is if you added animals to it. I love animals and stories about animals, especially if they are tear tearjerkers which most animal novels are! I just cant seem to find a nonfiction novel that is high level and about animals.
Now im not asking you to do my summer work I just want novel suggestions! So I dont want any comments saying "im not doing your work for you" or "how about you do your own work"! Please thats just immature!

American author (must)
high level not necessarily college but must be high! (must)
about animals (optional)
I would like some decent comments and even if it does not involve animals and you have a good suggestion that would be great!
