I've studied child development and family studies at WVU for 5 semesters (2.5 years) and I have 63 credit hours earned 13 of which are Early Childhood Development/Family Studies coursework and 24 are in Human Development, Psychology, Sociology, and Communications. I had to leave because i owe $8,000 for a summer term which I though a loan would cover but didn't. Now I work as an assistant teacher and my employer doesn't consider my education valid because I didn't finish. Therefore I make less than those who have the Child Development Associate credential despite of having more education than would be necessary to obtain the credential. I'm working on getting my CDA now but it's been such a frustrating experience starting from scratch and all of my hard work and thousands of dollars mean nothing. I'm fresh out of ideas on how to get back in school without my official transcripts even if i have to start over from scratch (which I can't get without paying the $8,000, I can only print an unofficial online transcript) or at least how to get $8,000 working minimum wage to go back and finish what i started.
So that being said...
How can I get my transcripts to count for something
If I can't get my official transcripts where should I go from here, is it worth getting my CDA to continue to get pennies toward finishing my degree?
Is there a program or something that schools offer to Low-Income families or students in general who have run into this issue?
Should I write a letter asking for a pardon of some kind to the Dean
I have a thirst to continue learning and growing and I still take classes and training through my job to stay sharp in my knowledge and skills, I even do research papers on my own time
