Collecting Naruto (Manga) from Volume 28+

I plan on buying from the beginning of Part 2, I just don't feel compelled to buy Part 1.

But, for my bookcase, I only put part 2 on it, because I consider Part 1 to be finished.

My strategy: Get the anime for part one up until the fillers than get the manga for part two.

I may well buy it outright eventually--the whole thing, not just part 2. One Piece is one thing, but the idea of buying the entire Naruto anime feels like a very imposing prospect right now. I haven't even started, and the fact that it streams legally online takes away the incentive to do so. However, I'm pretty patient, I can check out new volumes in Borders and hold out for some super all-inclusive set.

Alternatively, given how insanely popular Naruto is, Viz Big editions are inevitable. I just hope they go "Naruto Nation" on those when the time comes. It's taking them a good chunk of time just to get through the 28-volume Rurouni Kenshin.

Well, personally I'm very flippy floppy on committing to actually buying stuff.
Naruto's OVER popularity is kinda a Positive and Negative when buying it to me.
I do enjoy it but I just don't know if I REALLY wanna buy all of Part 1, especially when I already know it well.

I'd suggest buying the manga over the anime. Reading twenty-eight volumes is a breeze compared to watching 100 episodes. Of course, if you like certain plots or scenes, buy their anime adaptation.

I decided I'll buy Part II for now.
And as said, I do perfer the timeskip saga anyway it just feels overall more mature if anything.
But I will probably order the Part I Box in a month or so.

You're not the only one. I didn't get into Naruto until a good chunk of Part 2 already happened and decided to start off from there. I do have a few select volumes from Part 1, but everything else is Part 2.

Also a good chunk of Part 1 is the Chuunin Exams and after seeing it repeated so many times in fanfic, I'm pretty burnt out on any Chuunin Exam stuff. Plus, I'm already spending my money on other manga series so devoting any of that to Part 1 would be a bit too much to handle. Maybe in the future, I'll get the rest of Part 1, but now....

So yeah.

That's my plan as well... even if I'm majorly behind on collecting part I. I haven't been watching the Shippuden anime since the mid-50s but have kept up with the manga, so I'll likely just get the part II manga and call it good.
