Cold air intake or short ram for Honda Civic?

hey there, i purchased a 2001 honda civic ex 5 speed a couple weeks ago and am looking to put a new intake on. I am going to get an AEM V2 cold air that is $300 or a short ram intake that is $170. I know that for some cars a short ram is better than a CAI, and am just wondering if this would be one of those cars, i would rather not spend twice as much for something that isnt worth it. And is there a difference in sound between the two? Thx
