Coefficients of Friction in Classical Mechanics?

If 2 interfaces have the same coefficient of static friction, will they necessarily have the same coefficient of kinetic friction? In other words, are coefficients of friction characteristic of particular interfaces, or can 2 different pairs of materials have an equal coefficient of static friction but a different coefficient of kinetic friction?
 
This is not necessarily true. You can have materials with same static friction but different kinetic friction. I cannot give you any examples off the top of my head but there is no absolute relation between these two forces.
