code to make iphone on the tmobile plan?

so my brother has this iphone and i knid of want it. and i know its supposed to b with another plan but i heard from my sister that tmobile can unlock the iphone an put your sim card {t mobile} in it and the iphone will act like its on the t mobile plan. so i was woundering if that was real and if it is then i want to know if it is elligal.
 
Give ATT a call, they'll do it for you. I called T-Mobile a few days ago to unlock a phone to use on ATT. They said I had to be a customer for the past 3 months and they'd do it for me and over the phone it was done.

so yeah ATT probably has a different policy but it'll be much easier if you just call them. If you want to unlock it it's a bit dangerous but i can of course help with that if you don't succeed with calling them.
