Any ideas what type of check engine code reader I need to purchase online? I'm going to be doing some work on it myself and it's handy to know the code and what it means. I don't mind checking online for the code, but I need to know what type of device to purchase. Thanks.
Okay, again...I'm looking to purchase online. There are various types of cars that take different types of readers. I realize it's now a newer standard, but I'm wondering what that standard is *called* so that I may purchase the correct reader online.
Things are cheaper online, especially in this economy, so I'm trying to avoid a trip to the auto store.
I'm wondering if "Generic OBDII" is what I'm looking for. Ideas?
