Code Geass live action movie? Yay or nay?

They made a Death Note movie, they are making a Avatar: The Last Airbender trilogy, why not a Code Geass live action movie?

Would you be interested in a Code Geass live action remake? I don't know if they did, what country would make it. I don't like live action dubs.

I don't know, I think it is better to leave animated shows alone. But I say this, I think remaking the CG story to live action would be a better set of movies than the Last Airbender trilogy they are doing. If they did, it would be just two movies.

I am leaning towarRAB nah or no.

No, Kallen and C.C. are already sexy in anime form, they just wouldn't look right in live action, and don't get me started on Lelouch, in fact I would hate to see all three of my favourite Code Geass characters ruined in a live action movie

So in other worRAB, Nay

Speaking of which, who would play Kallen and C.C.? For the rest of the cast, it is simple, the Brittanians to be played by white actors, the Elevens to be played by asain actors. But Kallen is half Brittanian and half Japanaese, and who knows about C.C.'s race.

No, and one, clear reason why:

Giant robots. There is no way this'll ever get a good enough budget for the required CG to look even half-way decent.

Oh yeah, sure. The idea sounRAB all nice and everything...

Until they cast Jessica Alba as Viletta because of "creative differences," put Nunnally into a coma instead, and have a toss-up between Zac Efron and one of the Jonas Brothers for Lelouch. Oh yeah, and a Japanese person? As a main character? Oh no, no, no, we can't have that!

It could work.

Problem is, pretty much any live-action adaptation has to buckle down, ignore the wailing of the fanboys, and change things - because most anime, Geass included, are far from perfect stories even before compressing them from a 26 (or 52)-episode series into a single movie. It's how good adaptations are done; you have to recognize that some changes need to be made.

Meh, not really. Maybe if they made it like Suzaku of the Counterattack and left robots out of it. The prospect of a low-budget Japanese production trying to justice to the Geass mecha...well, it doesn't exactly excite me.

If you guys mean a Hollywood film, good luck with that. Geass has a solid fanbase but it's certainly not a part of our pop culture the way that other potential projects are, most of which are trying at least in part to cater to nostalgia and/or reintroduce a classic character.

As many others have said, I think there is no way anyone could handle the making of such a movie well.

Not that I think Code Geass its self has much integrity, but a cheese-tastic live action/CGI movie akin to Mobile Suit Gundam: G-Savior could only make it worse.

My thoughts verbatim... that's creepy >.>

I just don't see it working well. At all. Shows like Death Note are much more suited to live action adaptations because of the setting - our world, basically - and type of story - much more grounded in reality, Shinigami and magic notebooks aside. And even with that, a Death Note isn't going to look funny when adapted in live action because it's just that: a notebook. However, for something like Geass, there are way more fantastical elements with the Knightmare Frames, magic eye powers, and overall general craziness. It's fine as is.
