Cobra slashdown

Does anyone have any inforation on the Cobra slashdown? I have an 08 C90 and I'm wondering what the best pipe to buy would be. Is there anything else I would have to buy besides the pipe? Thanks

There is no such thing as the "best" pipe. It is what you like. Here is one sound clip of a Vulcan with slashdowns.

Gotta agree with Vinnie here, or he'll break my knees. :shock:

I have the Cobra Speedster Slashdowns and added Vance & Hines quiet cores after I got a loud pipes fix-it ticket. That didn't quiet the pipes so much as took out the high frequency leaving ahte lower sound. It still sets off car alarms along a city street, but people dont cover their ears and protect little children anymore. Performance is good, but 2 into 1 is generally better on a dyno.

O.K. thanks for all information. I hesitate to ask this question because it has probably been asked a zillion times before, but of the Vance and Hines, Cobra Slashdowns, and HK 2 into 1, how would they be ordered in terms of loudness?

I would say that my sideburners are the loudest of the bunch but not really loud unless I get on it. At idle they sound similar to a V-8. I don't set off car alarms while crusing anyway. I believe all the others are moderate and can also have quiet baffles installed, some found HERE.

Well, you know car alarms whistle their appreciation as you pass, and if you blip the throttle, they go into full song. :twisted:
