Coast Guard Boot Camp physically harder than Marine Corps Boot camp?

I have been in the Corps for 4 years now. I was always under the impression that the Marine Corps had the all around toughest boot camp.

I know nothing about the Coast Guard. A friend told me he heard from many people that the Coast Guard boot camp was the most physically challenging out of all the services.
That's what I thought too, he might be confused with rescue swimmers training.

I just looked at CG basic, here is their requirements to graduate.

Men will be expected to perform:
29 push-ups in 60 seconds
38 sit-ups in 60 seconds
Run 1.5 miles in under 12:51
Sit and Reach 16.50"
Complete a swim circuit
Tread water for 5 minutes
Jump off a 5-foot platform and swim 100 meters

But you must do this well just to get into the USMC:
35 situps in 2 mins.
1.5 mile run in 13:30

USMC didn't list any pushups to get in. Guess they figure you will do enough when you get there!

No, maybe the training for rescue swimmers, he might have been confused. However, the marines gets the title hands down for Basic training of officers and enlisted.

Coast Guard boot camp is a walk in the park compared to Marine Corps boot camp. MC boot camp is a walking, running, hands on tour of hell. If you're not up to the challange, stick with the coasties, you'll breeze through it.

As someone who is going to coast guard boot camp in 3 months i hope that's not the case, but i wouldn't be surprised, but i highly doubt its as demanding as marines.
