Clutchless shifting

How do you guys do it?

Is there any reason against doing it?

Can you down shift with it?

Where's the craziest place you've done it?

Ever do it with your best friend's mom?

i just put a lil bit of pressure on the shifter in the up position and close and open the throttle real quick. it shifts real smooth and alot faster. it takes a lil bit of getting use to but once you get it it will be like second nature. im just glad i learned on my yamaha instead of the duc.

i have done it for 16 years. all gears. presure up on shift peg. blip throtle , vwala . clutchles shifting. dont do it down

Squid, here's what I wrote in a previous thread about this; The clutchless upshift is MUCH quicker than using the clutch and you can keep a grip on the left bar in hairier circumstances. I think preloading the shifter is the key.

I've never tried clutchless downshifting or doing my best friend's mom. One sounds dangerous and the other sounds gross. But she is a great cook...

I'll take that one....

Phone booth...and no, it wasn't my best friends mom. It was my best friends mom's best friend. Does that count?

Oh, and the clutchless shifting? All the time on the up...all gears. Never on the down shifts for street. But on the ice with my race bike, all the time both ways. Different style of gear box of course, but I'm also thinking that the ice doesn't have the same resistance as the street so the possible binding isn't an issue.
