I dropped off my mustang at ford dealer ship(sheehy ford) for clutch replacement. I bought an after market clutch for my car and in the manual it says do not power shift and burnout for first 500 miles. After leaving my car for a day at dealer ship the repair shop called me, she said your clutch is installed and we had to take the car for a drive to see how the car is doing with the new clutch? What does that mean? Does a Technion have to do that? Is that necessary?

yes it is necessary because if he there is any problem with the way the tech installed it they have proof it was them and not you. when ever you make a repair it is always a good idea to do a test drive to make sure nothing is wrong. i assure you nothing is wrong with the tech driving it especially if it is at a dealership.
