Clutch pedal won't engage?

It's a 95 Saturn and I was going to start the car and my foot slipped off the clutch pedal which sent it shooting forward. Now the clutch doesn't engage it's as if it slipped off track. Any idea what happened? How do I go about fixing this?
 
I would block the wheels, then have someone push the clutch pedal while you look at the clutch slave cylinder. Check if the rod from the slave cylinder that actuates the clutch arm is still there and working. Maybe you are just low on clutch fluid, or have air bubbles in the fluid (due usually to having let the fluid level get too low).
