My 2001 bmw 325xi the clutch has way to much slop in it. when releasing the clutch the pedal comes more than half way out before it even start to grab at all. this is way to loose. i like the clutch to start to grab after about an inch of travel off of the floor. is thare any way to adjust this on My bmw? and what would cause the clutch to be so sloppy? dose it mean its almost worn out?

Assuming that the input and output clutch cylinders have proper fluid level with no air in it, then yes you are right that the clutch system is wornout. A brand new system would ideally have a clutch pedal play of 3/4 to 1 inch.
To "grab" normally the flywheel/ring gear, clutch disc, pressure plate and fork should all be within specifications. Sadly these parts do wear out with use and time.
