Cluless about the process of buying a new car...help!?

Ok, so I just bought my first car (used) that I've actually put on my credit and not my mom's. (Growing up sucks.) But I have no idea about how to get the tax, title, and license stuff done. Anyone help? I don't think the dealership gave me the title yet because my financing hasn't finalized. And do I give them the title to my old car I traded in? They havn't taken possession of it yet because they have to go get it from the autobody shop b/c it broke down. Other than the T, T & L that I have no idea about, is there any other paperwork that I need to do?
 
The finance company that you financed the car through will hold the title of the car until you pay it off. for the tax that was computed in the final sale bill. and license most likely the car dealership did this for you for a big or nominal fee (listed on your bill of sale legal fees, something of that type).
