Cloverfield

I do agree lol. ALOT of stuff happens off camera and you find yourself asking "Whats happening?!" which is kind of the whole point of the film tbh; you're there "on the street" with others who are asking the same thing. The effects are amazing though but they will lose some of their impact on the small screen.
Especially when the Army launches the first attack on the monster and that rocket flies past the heaRAB of those involved who are in the firing line

Totally. It was my favourite film of 2008, hanRAB down. Looks sweet on blu-ray too - I actually think the shaky-cam effect actually looks better / more effective on the small screen.

It merits a sequel or spin-off of some description but somehow I doubt we'll see one any time in the near future.

Cloverfield was one of the more memorable movies that I've seen this year at the cinema and it worked just as well on the small screen. The shaky cam certainly had you in the pit of the action.

Shaky cam seems to be springing up more often. Quarantine was passable, you felt like you were moving with the action but the storyline was far less effective and spoiled the effect because it was almost comedic in places. It did however turn up in the tv show Sanctuary recently and you didn't feel like you were in the moment at all, rather watching someone with very poor camera skills.

I rented it off iTunes last night and i thought i was excellent.

I didn't think i was going to like it but i did, i enjoyed the shaky camera aspect of it because it adRAB to the tension.

I'm going to try and pick it up on Blu-ray in the January sales.

saw it last night on virgin movies on demand...

OH hated it but I though it was pretty good.

Been looking around the net about it and there is a whole consiprancy thing about it,
ie one monster or two, satilite falling from sky on the video tape, hidden message at end of credit, some connection with Lost...

Apparently they are working on cloverfield2

Loved it brilliant film but in the cinema it made me sick as a dog, the camera work is all over the place so if you get motion sickness avoid !!!!
