Cloverfield

:D :D It appears that I have been living under a rock :D :D

I'm not too sure how I would take to the 'shakey-cam' style - I tend to be quite hard to please when it comes to films :o - Mrs C is the one that would watch almost anything. It was about

Please god NO not a sequel, I have posted the next bit in the I want my money back thread but it belongs here too-

Cloverfield,

I was really looking forward to this but after seeing it I really don't understand the hype over this movie, I thought the stills looked good and therefore made a point of watching it. frankly i wish i hadn't bothered. filmed in a blair witch shaky cam recorder style which was really anoying after the first 10 minutes and even after seeing the film I have no idea what it was or where it came from or why the film is even called cloverfield, also there was no real ending, it just stopped, I have more questions now than before i watched it. looked to me like they have left it open for a sequel which i will definitley not be watching. Terrible!!!

If anyone does actually know why it is called cloverfield please post as i honestly have no clue.

Shouldn't be long before Cloverfield makes it onto Sky BO and therefore the DVD price starts to fall. Hold on for a month or two before you buy. Well worth it imo - saw it twice at the cinema and bought the DVD on the day it was released. No where near as good on the small screen, but still a great film.

I went to see it at the cinema and loved it. The shaky camera didn't bother me too much, but I got am awful dose of vertigo during certain scenes and had to look away, becuase I thought I was going to throw up lol.

FAtController, you can ring up Sky and get them to authorise a Sky Box office film without the telpephone connection. Mine isn't plugged in and I used to get the wrestlign authorised this way.

Far cheaper than buying a

*helps fat controller out from under the rock* GO BE FREE!!

At least you don't get motion sickness(unless you do), I get it very easily and that's the reason I didn't bother with it at the cinema. Can pause a DVD and rest my head :)

Watched it at the cinema and picked up the Blu-Ray, it's definately an enjoyable movie if only because there isn't much else out there like it.

The idea behind the sequel is that there were more than one of them. ;-) Which would be cool.

Apart from that they could film it again from a different perspective and camera, most likely case.

Cloverfield itself was more of a project codename for the film but they stuck with it, but it really stems from them renaming the area formerly known as Central Park ...Cloverfield.

I watched part of it last night, got up to the part where they were
attacked by the parasites in the underground
but had to switch off because the filming style was making me feel ill.

Didnt like the shaky cam ,it would be brilliant if it was shot normally mind still an excellent scary film ! strange ending as if they could do a sequel as there are many questions unanswered ! but that dosent detract from a good scary shocker !worth seeing ! i felt sorry for the statue of liberty! it seems to get anilated in so many movies!!:)

I would love there to be a sequel, it didn't quite live up to the hype for me ( I was partly responsibile though because I was looking forward to it for months) but I still enjoyed it and would be interested in seeing what happens next.

I see that it has appeared on Box Office - so if I can get a new telephone extension for our box (our daughter knackered the other one), then I might rent it that way.

I mentioned the Blair Witch meets Godzilla description to Mrs C and to my surprise she turned her nose up, so I am even less sure now than before.

I thought it was fantastic and thought it was a great idea to have a cast of relatively unknown actors. I thought it had great pace and wiped the floor with some of the big budget films this year - just my opinion...

It is good - a really different and enjoyable cinema experience!
Also, watch (.REC) - or cut and paste that into YouTube and watch the trailer. Damn good Spanish horror in the same vein...

Cloverfield is an immensely frustrating film. You have moments of utterly cool mayhem and stuff gong on off screen, but all we hardly ever get to see any of it. The lead actors in the film are a charmless bunch also, which didn't help me relate with them.

The section in the half collapsed skyscraper/apartment is about the only thing I remember the film for. That, and the exploding woman of course. :D
