If you'd rather me not do this, please lock this thread or merge it with the other. I was just trying to follow the official talkback rules.

The trailers made this movie look better than it was (surprise!) It was kind of meh. Not awful, just not great. The characters had a visual simplicity to them that was initially effective but got very old and wearing as the movie went on. But I gotta say...Mr. T. is a very good voice actor! :anime:

Loved it. I didn't care that it was nothing like the children's book. Infact, I'm pretty sure Shrek was nothing like the children's book it's based on too.

The consensus seems to be that if you're expecting it to be just like the book, you'll be disappointed (duh), but if you're expecting a good laugh, you'll be more than satisfied. I think I might see this on Tuesday - I mean, c'mon, it's the "Clone High" guys. Plus, where else are you going to get Bruce Campbell and Mr. T in the same movie?

I wasn't too excited for this film, but I saw a clip of the ice cream snowball fight during The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien and I laughed so hard I nearly fell out of my chair. I'm curious to see this one now, but I'll probably wait for the home video release.

Glad to see it's getting good reviews, though.

Saw this one with the sibs in 3D. (I wasn't paying, ace) It's cute to be sure, I felt at the start it moved way too fast, it was...not confusing as much as frustrating. I never expected it to be anything like the book but it was aight.

My fathers favourite part was Mr. T's characters reverse mohawk. He laughed obnoxiously loud when he made that connection.

The acting was top notch however, I loved all the characters and how they were voiced. The animation, while good, the animators weren't really good actors themselves for the most part. They all had moments but some of it felt flat, I think the best character was Earl the cop because he was quite energetic.

Honestly, when I saw the first trailer, I wasn't too excited for this movie, but now... well, I'm still probably not going to see in in theaters, but I might rent it someday. The critics seem to be giving it decent ratings at least - 86 percent positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes when I last checked. :)

Time to actually comment on the movie. My fave moment was
Flint's dad trying to send the killcode to Flint's cellphone to stop the machine, and later on when it was revealed that he accidentaly sent him that rapping cat video instead.

I really want to see this because my favorite SNL actor, Bill Hader, is the main voice and he is an excellent voice actor. And the reviews are good, this could potentially be the surprise animated film of the year.

Actually, It looks like he hated it... as usual. But he had a few good things to say about it...

Regardless of what the guy who created that fully animated masterpiece: Ren and Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon thinks, I'm going to go see it and form my own opinion on it (unlike John K's blind followers on his blog).

Expect my review later today!

Went to see it last night with my sister. Easily the funniest movie I've seen in a long time. My suspicions were correct - those expecting it to be just like the book are going to be in for a shock, but you shouldn't let that distract you from what's still an extremely entertaining story.

Also, I'm pretty sure Mr. T isn't acting here. That's just how he is in real life.

I mainly disagreed with his grading scale. Negative numbers for films which you hated, and a film which you admitted to liking certain aspects of receives only a zero? Come on. A zero should be reserved for films which have no redeeming values. Negative numbers shouldn't even factor into movie rankings. It makes the grading range way too large, and makes you look immature to boot. "See that? I hated this movie so much I gave it a -59%!"

But, since I don't want this to turn into a "bash John K." thread, I'll leave it at that. I can't say I was enticed to see the film based on the trailers, and I was never a huge fan of the story it's based on. But it's gotten pretty good reviews, so I'm torn.
