Without clouds, life on earth would hardly be what we know. First, during the summer, the clouds work as an albedo to reduce the sun's radiation. During the winter, they work as a blanket, slowing down the radiation of the surface's heat into space, at night.
Without clouds, we wouldn't have rain and without rain, life wouldn't be possible on land. Remember that life, as we know it, is based on amino-acids that need water as a solvent. There is a theory that, on distant planets, life could exist with methane as a solvent and not water. But for life on earth: Water is essential.
No clouds = no rain = no water on land = no life on land.
