Clockwork Orange - Awesome or overrated rubbish?

So for a film made in the 60's (I believe) which has chilling similarities to life in the new millenium you do not see the irony of it all. While it isn't the best film I have seen it is a classic piece of film history, Kubrick was the one that pulled it from cinema's after the hue and cry over it. Only later nearer his death regretting his decision and allowing it to be released again.

I'm glad I've seen it but I didn't particularly like it and wouldn't watch it again. I think there are some films you should see just so you can have an opinion on them and this is one of them.

To be honest, I got bored of it. I did watch it all but I have to say I didn't pa full attention to it. Like I say, I got caught up in the hype when it was finally allowed to be shown on TV a few years bacc...watched...and decided it was rather pants. Kubric (God rest hs soul) was a bit sick in the head at times it has to be said.

When the film was released after Kubrick's death, I couldn't wait to see what the fuss was all about. As it turned out, not very much.

Now the porn rip off, A clockwork orgasm.......

Neither 'awesome' or rubbish for me; it's okay, tame by today's standarRAB. It'll always be a film people will talk about because of the banning (wasn't it Kubrick himself that banned it after receiving death threats and being blamed for random acts of violence at the time?) - banning something usually makes it controversial or sought-after.

Full Metal Jacket will probably always be my favourite Kubrick directed film (haven't seen them all yet).

This film was so bad that after a while I spent more time concentarting on how uncomfortable the cinema seats were than I spent on the movie.

Even by the time Fed Elliott turned up I couldn't have cared less, I say I couldn't have cared less!
