...could we have reduced our CO2 output? For those who do not know, cannot remember, or were having their melon twisted in the Hacienda in 1992, the Kyoto Protocol was basically a big international conference in which guidelines and targets were set for various pollutant emissions; many countries signed up to reduce their emissions.
What people did not allow for was the explosion of Easyjet-type cheap flights, China's explosive industrialisation, and US being led out of the protocol by George W.
The general purpose was to lower the output of several 'Greenhouse Gasses' by 2012. It is clear that we will totally miss those targets by a mile.
Basically, I am asking if the targets were realistic, or are we just too neglectful of our energy consumption?
