Climate Change saved our species?

Watched Man on Earth last night and it seemed Climate Change saved our species and killed the Neanderthals. I t seems that in our 4.5 BILLION year history our planet has gone through dramatic climate shifts without any human input. How can Homo Sapians who emit less than 3% of the planets carbon bank be responsible for such massive planetary shifts. Isn't this the height of arrogance that we could possibly believe we can have any impact on the planet?

I can only agree with you, Hollywood also plays a big part in our little story, human as such have been around for about 2.5 maximum 3 million years, not that you'd see anything human in these ape like cretures, everything is doom and gloom - or is it ? - draw back time 70 even 50 years ago, you'd never hear of people starving to death or hugh volcano going off, today, you'll get a live feed, our imaginations are being fed by Hollywood, the dionasaurus were around for 165 million years and in the last 200 years we've taken this planet to the brink of destruction ? Do me a favour, this planet will be here for another million years, the end of the world, Year 1, 1999, 6th June 2006 and of course 2012 arrogance, not really just becoming thick, stupid and being led by the hand and no longer thinking for ourselves, common sense !
