im from NY but living in Tampa and i pass that school on the way to the beach thinking wtf... if my high school was blocks from the beach i would never go to class

I have curbed my texting while driving and currently only do it at stop signs, stop lights or when sitting in a parked spot.

Everything I've read about Kindle (and other e-readers) trials in education has had generally poor reviews, but it's still better than Texas dropping the slave trade and separation of church and state.

Im sure that each Kindle will have a serial number and be assigned to a student. That student will be held responsible for the full cost of the Kindle just as they were held responsible for the full cost of the text book.

but seriously books can get fucking heavy. I had to lug around 30 pounds in middle school because the district was too cheap to have class sets of textbooks. This is probably a good idea, but the poor students' parents will pawn that shit immediately so I don't think it will work.

There have been a handful of colleges already doing it, and the students generally haven't liked them as textbook replacements.

Could never do that. Must highlight. But then that's highschool and no one looks at the books anyway.

i love books. keep printing the same fucking shit that you only use 1/4 off in one year. then make kids buy new editions with slightly better editing and new book smell. lol fucking amazing how book publishers ran that racket for so long.
