I am renewing my contract with cingular and getting a new phone. I'm a basic user. I use my phone to talk. 
I don't care if there is a camera, pda, internet access, games, colors, changable faceplates or any other fancy feature. I could even do without text messaging. Size doesn't matter.
I do want very clear reception and a headset (it doesn't even have to be bluethooth - corded will work.)
I'm currently using a Samsung x427m. I've hated it because the headset clicks.
I'm in NW Washington near the Canadian border. I don't use the phone in Canada, but would in a true emergency. I do travel to Utah through Oregon & Idaho once or twice a year. I follow the interstates & want reception for safety and to keep in touch.
Which current Cingular phones have the best, clearest reception on the hand unit & the earphone? Suggestions? I'm also open to suggestions of unlocked phones to buy off e-bay or the internet.
