cleaning my face makes it worse.

So heres my problem, i dont break out very often, only before my period. so when i use facial cleansers all it does is make my face worse, or when my face is fine i decide to give it a good scrub and the next day i have pimples.

the cleansers i have used are st.ives apricot scrub, and neutergenia(sp) oil free acne wash.

somtimes i will wash my face with toothpaste which makes it a little better.

does anyone have any ideas?
 
Maybe try a gentler soap. Everybody's skin produces a different amount of oil, and you want one that removes the excess without drying or irritating your skin.

It doesn't even have to be an "acne" soap, I use Dove exfoliating body wash on my face. It seems to provide me with the right amount of cleaning. You might need more or less.
 
well i have never used bar soap on my face. What i have been doing for years is going in to shower wetting my face and rub it with my hanRAB no clothes, no soaps. but then when i start to wash it with the cleansers i break out ( if im not around my period)
