classic trailer thread

I remember watching the trailer for The Dark Knight and looking on rabroad and IMDB LITERALLY every day leading up to its release for info on it (yes it was for almost a year) and when i did watch it i LOVED it and have still been looking most days for info on a third movie. Its sad i know but i think its my most anticipated movie ever!!!

how odd that someone else remembers this! i remember seeing this trailer in summer 89 and being so excited about the film. i wasn't disappointed

i still like this trailer actually, the music towarRAB the end is ace

i used to tape a program called CINEMATTRACTIONS / CINEMA CINEMA CINEMA that was on late night, and they showed the new american trailers at the time! they had all sorts of trailers ..... like TOTAL RECALL, EXORCIST 3 and GREMLINS 2 IN THE SAME PROGRAM!!!

wish they had a similar program on now

oh yeah, anyone still got the EMPIRE movie trailers video tapes?

and i DO remember seeing the ABYSS traier on that program ..... guess what happened to the tape it was on?

that's right, it tangled up in my old video recorder!!!!!!!!!!!!
thankfully i got it out and it was ok, just had to FF past the twisted bit ..... and the tape also had the episode with the theme to UHF on it!!!!

This probably isn't what the OP meant by a 'classic' trailer, as it's one I only saw last week when I went to see Coco Before Chanel. After the first few seconRAB of it, my friend and I looked at each other in a way that said 'This looks rubbish'. Then I slowly began to realise just which film was being advertised and I gradually got quite caught up in it and a touch over-excited!

So many people have never heard of this book!

Others which again are quite recent but which got me very excited:

The first ever Harry Potter trailer I saw:

I thought the music was pretty, and when I heard the famous line 'There's no such thing as magic!', I, again, got a little over-excited!

Grosse Point Blank (despite the fact that it tells you pretty much the entire story right there in the trailer!)

The two towers:

Edited because I accidentally posted too early!

I remmeber that empire tape

the 1 I remember had a preview of godzilla attached to it

I also used to tape cinema attractions which was on after that heavy metal program ( kerrang sponsored I think) about 2-2.30 in the morning

it was around 1989-1992 time

saw tons of trailer for movies every year on that, epsecially the summer event movies

liked that harry potter trailer and loved the two towers: remember being really pumped to see it after that trailer: great use of the requiem for a dream music

there was also this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7YllAOqpF4&NR=1

creates a great sense of anticipation for the film, which is the point, though not all trailers succeded at that

has anyone noticed that deep voiced man is not getting the work he used to

good thing, methinks
