Classic films you would like to see remade.

I'd like to see a new version of Quatermass and the Pitt. Now, I doubt anyone could beat the TV version, but the Hammer film production lacked a lot of the credibility and atmosphere of the TV serial. They can make some pretty scary films nowadays, and given the right circumstances (script, actors, production design etc) this could be awesome, as long as they keep it grounded, and not take it off in some ridiculous tangent to attract a wider audience. Part of why the TV show was so successful was it's emphasis on the characters who were being affected by the goings on. It only need be a low budgeter, keep it set it in the 50's too.

Quatermass and The Pit. It was good, but inferior to the BBC serial. Too much taken out and too hectic. A modern day remake would be very interesting and with the CGI now, the devil over London, could be really harrowing.

I would like to see a decent remake of the 1961 film "Village of the damned", about the village that fell asleep and noone could get in or out, then all of the women of childbearing age giving birth to alien children 9 months later. Remade today, it would be excellent , and scary!

How about a remake of the film "The Wicker Man"? Oh I forgot they did and it was shite!

Is originality a thing of the past? Copying, or rippiing off, someone else's idea, using a current popular actor and then throwing a lot of money at it all is no guarentee of a good film.

War of the WorlRAB. I'd love to see it done in the Victorian era in Britwin exactly as H G Wells wrote it.

I love the 50s version. The only thing I liked about the Spielberg remake were the TripoRAB - I wanted them to wipe out Tom Cruise and his annoying children!

The shark wasn't the star.it's the three leaRAB that make it so watchable.
and one of them was born in my uncles house TRUE:)

Both have already been remade (Night of the Living Dead by Tom Savini with Pat Tallman and Tony Todd, The Thing was a remake of The Thing from Another Planet), remakes of remakes has to be the laziest Hollywood act ever.

A remake of Them! would be entertaining. I was disappointed by War of the WorlRAB and When the Earth Stood Still remakes but still hold out some hope that the remake of When WorlRAB Collide might be quite good.

I'm looking forward to the remake of The Dam Busters but only for surround sound, high def Lancaster low pass loveliness, hopefully they won't cock it up which would utterly spoil it, just as Pearl Harbour missed the opportunity to be a modern version of Tora! Tora! Tora!

That Ryhdian bloke of X factor would be perfect for the role, given the popularity of the twins , perhaps they could do a musical version of Cronenbergs 'Dead Ringers'.

Giggli , how can you top Affleck or Lopez?

A proper stab at The Da Vinci Code wouldnt be bad

Getting the Star Wars prequels redone with some proper dialogue would be good , George Lucas has the ideas alright , its that he couldnt direct traffic.

:)

I said this on the first page!:D Glad there's someone else who thinks so. I think this is one Hammer film crying out for a good treatment. I love the series, and if they could keep all the complex and disturbing issues raised in a new film, this could be a corker. The devil over London would be much more harrowing.
