Classic Chart Show Showing On The Vault 356

I'm confused as well, that's hope they are right. It might explain why Matt couldn't be reached last week. However you would have thought they would have prepared some episodes in advance?

When I emailed Matt he also said that he has shown episodes we have already seen because something was wrong with the tape. He says he dosn't want to say too much just in case he jinx's it.

Just seen a trailer for this weeks- looks like the first episode of 1998, with a viewer voted countdown of the best 20 songs of 1997.

I'll be honest, I hate these trailers because I sort of like the suprise of not knowing what episode's going to be shown. But if it gets people to watch who didn't know about the repeats, then it's a good thing.

I wonder how well the repeats are doing since the addition of the midnight repeat? I hope they do well enough for them to feel it's worth it to transfer the old tapes- like others, I really want to see some 1986-1990 and 1993-95 episodes.

While I'm here- I'll say a quick hi to you at havenforum.co.uk- I know you're reading this ;)

sorry james2001 its actually being shown on The Vault channel 356

i have uploaded twice to youtube but its taking ages to process

site must be playing up

I've got the show recorded from Tyne Tees and I'm sure the last time I watched it (admittedly, about a year ago) it played out without any announcer talking over the last video. I'm sure the announcer talked about CD:UK AFTER the Chart Show actually finished. Both video and recorder are now in the attic so I can't just get the tape to check if I've remembered right.

I must get the videos / recorder down one day anyway, I've several tapes of various programmes, both music and non-music, I want to copy to DVD... no more Chart Shows though unfortunately. From 1996 onwards I used to occasionally do overtime on a Saturday and used to record the programme if I remembered to set the video but never saved any except for that last episode.

I do have a few tapes of Sky's Hit Mix from 2001 which ran overnight after Sky One closed and was pretty much a Chart Show clone in that it was announcer free and had various charts, played some songs in full, fast forwarded through others etc. I can't remember if it had graphics like the Chart Show though (ie snippets of info for each song played) - I'm almost sure it didn't. It's years since I last watched a tape of it, and that had Geri Halliwell's horrendous "It's Raining Men" at #1

I'm trying to picture if there a trashcan icon on the old Amiga Workbench days. I remember the empty trash menu prompt but not an icon to dump the trash in. None of that eco friendly Recycle Bin jargon you get with Win PC's lol

Just noticed today's episode's on again. Looks like midnight Sunday is a new repeat slot. They must be proving popular for them to be sticking another repeat showing in the schedule.

It seemed to start a few minutes early.

And it does indeed look like two episodes a week. I was expecting a different year maybe they are going to show a load from one year than another.

todays episode was 1991 your right! As i a big Kylie fan and her shocked video was on but that was released in April was i'm sure it wasn't June! ;)

it must have been April not June!

Ah; it felt like it was from the summer of 1996 but I didn't know exactly when.

I always felt that 1996 was a pretty decent musical year, and although I didn't see the whole of today's programme I did like most of the songs I did see (like the Dodgy track someone mentioned above and Fastlove by George Michael) so it was a good show.

Speaking about The Vault in general, though, has anybody felt that the channel has seemed to be playing many more archive videos in relation to current stuff than they used to be doing?

I watched a bit of their 80s night last night and there were a lot of classic videos and rare hidden gems featured, so it's definitely a very good thing if they are focusing more on the archive stuff now.

Believe I've got toda's date- November 16th 1996.

I'm sitting here waiting for some 1992-95 editions. Please show them!

It's also worth pointing out we haven't had a Rock Chart yet either (with the exception of the first episode they showed which, being the end of year special, had all 3 charts). We've had 3 dance charts and 2 indies.

Great episode from 1992.

The edition dates from August 22th as its two editions on from a previous Vault screening from last year dated August 8th which had a Rock Chart.
