2nd time lucky

Damn I keep missing these shows, the only thing reminding me are the topic reply emails. :(

Why can't they show it at a better time like 8pm in the week or on a Saturday/Sunday night? 11am on a Saturday is a crap idea, fair enough they're trying to emulate when it was originally shown but most of the viewers like myself will have families and be out for the day - not sitting in front of the TV all weekend.

i have around 80 episodes of the chart show from various years, all great quality

if anyone are interested in them pm me.

I also checked on Wiki and have since found out (also by looking at other's posts) it's been showing since the 28th but at odd times.

That's why I bumped and said it was on at 9pm.

It can be hugely frustrating last week they had a problem and almost nothing was uploading i take it you use the new uploader? The longer the vid the more chance it has of not uploading but eventually it does do it just very annoying

I just thought there was too much R'n'B on it, I know it's down to opinion, but according to the titles, there isn't a Dance, Rock or Indie Chart. though I also would have liked to see more effort put into the transitions between songs on the charts. Besides that, I enjoyed it - lovely to see the reuse of the Video Vault ident.

I would just like to point out, by the way, the Vault's forum admin claims this will run everyday... there is no Chart Show on tomorrow, the next day, or next Wednesday. Whether or not this is a traditional CSC problem where they can't be arsed updating the EPG, I don't know.

Since viewing Cray's clips in this last week alone I've already been on ebay and bought 4 old dance singles and albums by Bennett, Symposium, Midget and Kerbdog :eek: and I'm just looking right now for a copy of Soapy's Horny As Funk

Oh and I've my clips on for over 6 months now and 'nothing' has ever been said to me.

There were two title sequences in between the December 91 and May 96 titles. One introduced in May 1993 was similar in style to the 1991 set with planes flying around on a weird planet except it started off in a docking bay where the planes flew out of it via the Twix logo which opened to reveal the exterior.

There was another one introduced around 18 months later set in a big city made of musical instruments where the majority took place flying through the inside of a trumpet with electric guitars and piano keyboards hurtling towards the screen. The Twix logo was an aerial shot of a tall building. It was at this stage that the show changed its name back to "The Chart Show" from "ITV Chart Show".

The theme music remained the same with new arrangements made for both titles and all of the stings from 1991 were kept apart from the Top 10 intro which was altered in 1993 and resembled a pinball machine IIRC. That's what I can remember anyway!

It's so sad to find out about the demise of the Chart Show. It's unfortunate that one of the few decent programmes on tv has to be taken off.:(

ah, I've missed the 1996 episodes, I only started watching the repeats a few weeks ago.

If they could show the 1993-95 episodes, they could eventually show the programme in some sort of date order by showing a programme from this particular week in the past. They'd have enough years to be able to do this if they had the full 1991- Aug 1998 run.
