When I asked the BFI (British Film Institute) to see the first three episodes of Channel 4's The Chart Show, the BFI told me it would take some time for the technician to convert the 1" tape into something compatible such as the DVDs, which I was watching there. However it was worth waiting for the appointment date to see the episodes. Interestingly the ITV episode of 21/01/89 which I was watching there was in a VHS tape. Not too sure why was that, because I didn't have time to ask the guy there. If the BFI can manage to do that, why can't the Vault channel do the same. Is it because the BFI has so much money from the government to convert their archive films into tape, while the Vault doesn't have any cash to do their classic chart show episodes themselves !!!
