Classic albums any true music fan should own or at least listen to

I moved one of your posts in the free will thread that was posted after you posted this and then edited it to say blank.

Want me to throw in a third one just incase?

Ok, I've edited the list somewhat, divided the albums by decades and such. Later, I'll include a wikipedia link to each album, so perhaps we can sticky this at some point. If anyone else has a problem with Lateralus, I'm gonna chuck it. And if anyone has a problem with a particular artist/album in the future, please elaborate a bit on it.

Page 1 of the thread, very clever as you all know that I don't actually read all this stuff.

There has been a HORRIBLE omission in the 90's catagory and I can't believe no one has caught it: REFUSED - THE SHAPE OF PUNK TO COME. That album opened a lot of eyes and was absolutely unignorable

Townes Van Zandt--most anything recorded "live" at the venue. He was often drunk/high and his demons were on-stage with him. Very real music.

Johnny Cash--the Folsom Prison album. Plus, Cash's last 2-3 albums before his death. For me they're a soraber view of life through the worRAB and thoughts of a man who knew he was dying.

The Beatles---Abbey Road.

Love is Hell is an album I've read about but never been able to hear. Anyone who's been in love would understand lots of songs...that doesn't mean they're all good. We have enough sentimentality without substance cluttering up the pop culture roadmap, so if a song is sentimental but doesn't approach its subject in a unique compelling way I'll quietly take a detour. comparing love to a flower? Oh the innovation!!! sweet Ryan, allow me to rest my head in your lap and do tell me more  .

Note: I know I'm being a bit of an ass with those last few comments, but I got a chuckle out of being called a heartless bastard and decided to run with it.
