Classic 50s/60s Sci Fi

Ive started a bit of an interest in old sci fi classics. You know the ones (usually the old American black and white movies).
I have Thing from another world and The day the earth stood still.
Can anyone recommend/remind me of some others i should have in my collection.
Thanks

I love watching old sci-fi b-movies from the 50's and 60's but find that many channels don't tend to show them preferring to repeat the same movies ad nauseum, which I find a shame.

Got to have Time Machine (1960) on your list. A classic. I have both versions on DVD.

Maybe journey to centre of the earth but not sure which era its from

The 1st 2 are on the DVD that I have. Only thing wrong with it is that the movie is not widescreen and they had it on Five this wek in Widescreen.

I love the sci fi from the 1950s. Every bloke is in a suit and the ladies run from the monsters/aliens in 4 inch high heel shoes and big baggy skirts. NOT VERY PRACTICAL. :D

The movies are never boring, even when they're naff. :D

It's the long time since I saw The Blob, Steve McQueen's first leading part.

Part as in acting! ;) Great stuff. :D ;)

It Conquered the World is a must see! Also Day of the TriffiRAB is worth watching - much better than any remakes done since 1962. Village of the Damned another classic.

Try the 1950s film, Quartermass. :D Bit spooky. It's a black and white flick about an astronaunt who comes back to earth.

His two astronauts colleagues die strangely in the spaceship but he lives.

Yet all is not what it seems as he then tranforms....

But into what??!!

The Quatermass Xperiment

Bela Lugosi died half-way through filming and he was replaced. But the replacement wasn't an actor, just a guy who lived down the street. :D

The guy was also a foot taller than Lugosi, and 40 years younger, but he still played the part where Lugosi left off.:D:D
